The Murfreesboro Monster Smash is a low-cost, easy-to-join popup tournament that keeps things fun while still bringing plenty of competition. We’ll have DUPR-rated gender doubles, mixed doubles, and singles divisions, plus non-DUPR Moneyball divisions for players looking to compete for cash.
Most Saturday play happens Halloween morning, with Mixed Doubles and Singles taking over Sunday afternoon and evening, giving players plenty of tournament pickleball without taking over the entire Halloween weekend.

We want people playing.
After your first event, each additional standard division is only $10 per player.
Additional Moneyball divisions are $20 per player, with that additional entry contributing to the Moneyball prize pool.

Every tournament registrant will receive one raffle ticket at check-in for a chance to win a new paddle.
We’ll be giving away a paddle from JOOLA, RPM, or Selkirk Boomstik during Monster Smash.
No additional purchase is necessary, you’re entered just for playing.
DUPR & Division Placement
Standard tournament divisions will be DUPR rated, with results submitted following the tournament.
DUPR Restrictions are setup inside Scoreholio. Players can request to bypass these Restrictions.
Requests will be granted or denied at Apex Staff’s discretion. Low dupr reliability and assessed skill will be taken into consideration.
Moneyball divisions will not be submitted to DUPR.
Apex staff will use dupr and our discretion to ensure a competitive environment.
Moneyball Payouts
Moneyball prize pools grow with participation:
$20 × the total number of players registered in the division
For Doubles Moneyball, the runner-up team receives $80, with the remainder of the purse going to the champions.
For Singles Moneyball, the runner-up receives $40, with the remainder going to the champion.
Tournament Format
Each division begins with a four-game round robin, followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket.
Everyone advances to bracket play, with the goal of providing a good amount of competitive pickleball for every entry.
Divisions with fewer than four teams or players may be combined with the closest appropriate non-Moneyball division.
Final pools, court assignments, and division structures will be set after registration based on participation.

Refunds & Weather
Refunds may be requested up to one week before the tournament.
Because Apex is an outdoor facility, the rain dates for Monster Smash are:
November 14–15, 2026
If the tournament ultimately has to be canceled, refunds will be processed within one week of cancellation.
